Once a week, usually on a Wednesday, I head out of the house and go to see something out of the ordinary. It can be a building, an exhibition, a garden, some sculpture, a concert or a pile of ancient ruins – it doesn’t matter as long as it’s interesting. These jaunts have become known as ‘Cultural Wednesdays’ in our household. When not jaunting around I love to read and share my thoughts on what I’ve read here as well.
Thirty years ago I joined the BBC and spent many happy years working as a TV and Radio producer mainly on Business and Economics programmes. Twelve years ago I waved goodbye to the Corporation and hello to identical twin boys. Whilst I love blogging, paid writing work is always welcome, if you like what you read and need a journalist don’t hesitate to get in touch!
Love the idea of Cultural Wednesdays!!!

Love this idea – I do the same thing each week in New York City, but on the weekend instead as I teach at a law school during the week. I’m so glad I’ve discovered your blog and look forward to reading more! Best, Susan
